Demopolis
Mrs. Bertha Oates, 77, of Demopolis died Saturday 7, 2004 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services for Mrs. Oates were Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. Rev. James Dunn officiated with interment following in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis was entrusted with the arrangements. She is survived by nine children: Charles (Helen) Oates and Jackie Oates of Calumet City, Il, James Oates, Birmingham, Alfred (Regina) Oates, Kathy Oates Ware, Lillian Oates, Bertha (Charles) Lewis and Stephanie Oates all of
Demopolis, and Hattie O. (Cornelious) Jones of Clinton, MD; one sister, Lillian Lucas of Chicago, IL; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a devoted neighbor, Lenora Ash, Demopolis, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Mrs. Louise Maiden Lyons
Gallion
Mrs. Louise Maiden Lyons, 76, of Gallion died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. Rev. Terry Gosa will officiate with interment to follow in the Allenville Cemetery in Allenville, AL. The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis are entrusted with the arrangements. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lyons, Gallion, Grandson, Keith (Latoya) Cade, Demopolis, a step-son Ronnie (Barbara) Lyons, Gallion, a brother, Frank (Clara) Maiden of Greensboro, seven sisters, Olivia Horton, Susie Scruggs, and Lillie (Norman) Cade all of Tuscaloosa, Ida (Cleveland) Cade, Thomaston, Catherine (Percy) Cox, Faunsdale, Willie (J.T.) Harris, Cleveland, OH, Clara (James) Lee, Bronx, NY, 19 step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Mrs. Lucille Coleman
Mrs. Lucille Coleman of York died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center – Princeton in Birmingham. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis.
Christina Farrow Stone
Linden
Mrs. Christina Farrow Stone, 27, of Linden died Sunday, August 15, 2004 at home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with interment in the Linden Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Elder Eric Bates officiated. She is survived by her husband, John Anthony Stone of Linden, her parents, Bobbie Sue and Christopher Farrow of Hunting, WVA, a brother Brandon Lee Farrow of Birmingham, grandfather, Bobby Owens and grandmother Sue Owens of Ooltewah, TN, and her grandmother Ann Farrow of St. Simmons Island, GA.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dr. Ray Ivey, Jr.
