Food, fun and helping the Demopolis City Schools Foundation will all be a part of the 2013 Annual Pancake Dinner at Jack’s.
The fundraiser will take place Feb. 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased from any board member or those interested can call the DCSF at (334) 289-4017.
The dinner typically draws a good crowd, DCSF executive director Amanda Barnes said. She said they have done a pancake eating contest in the past and hope to do something like that again this year.
Funds generated from the dinner will go directly to the classroom grants program. Grants go to fund classroom requests from teachers in efforts to enhance the classroom experience.
The tickets will purchase a pancake dinner platter. In addition to helping the DCSF, those who attend will also get the opportunity to use this as a time to learn more about the school foundation, Barnes said.
“We also want people to learn more about the school foundation and use this as a chance to boost our membership drive,” she said.
To become a member of the DCSF, those interested should call the foundation. The membership fee is $30.
