UWA Volleyball team
gets 3-0 sweep
LIVINGSTON – Haley Ball had a match-high 16 kills to go along with 13 digs for the Tigers, as the University of West Alabama volleyball team defeated Xavier (La.) University (5-11) on Tuesday night in Pruitt Hall 3-0 (30-15, 30-24, 30-16).
Melissa Bartlett added 11 kills and one block solo, while Amanda Heaton had nine kills and four digs. Whitney Burt had a match-high 39 assists for the Tigers, and Melanie Moffett added a match-high 16 digs.
Kimberlee Rock led Xavier (La.) with eight kills, while Lauren Mills added seven kills and a team-high 12 digs. Korey Fondel had a team-high 24 assists for the Golden Nuggets.
The Tigers move to 6-15 and return to action on Friday when they head to Jefferson City, Tenn., for a 5:00 p.m. match at Carson-Newman.

Demopolis area golfers invited to compete in Florida
Demopolis area junior golfers of high school age are invited to apply to compete in the AJGT Showcase Classic at Regatta Bay Golf Club in Destin, Florida from Nov. 20th-21st.
The event is ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard and staged for the purpose of providing exposure to colleges for potential colligate golfers.
To qualify for participation, players are asked to submit their lowest three scores in sanctioned 36-hole tournaments.
