U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) will join the residents of Marengo County for a county visit on Saturday, Feb. 20, at noon.
The county visit, which is open to the public, will take place at Smokin’ Jack’s Bar-B-Que in Demopolis.
Shelby will address the legislative agenda for the second session of the 111th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama.
“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” Shelby said. “This will be a great chance to discuss the issues as the 111th Congress reconvenes.”
Following his remarks, Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.
Shelby has held more than 1,500 county visits since being elected to serve the state of Alabama.
He holds a meeting in each county every year.
