All city, county schools will open tomorrow. MA, UWA will be closed

The Demopolis City School System has elected to hold classes as usual tomorrow as an uncertain threat of snow looms.
The decision will be re-evaluated Friday morning at 6 a.m. and parents will be updated via SchoolCast – the automated telephone system – should circumstances require the schools to remain closed.
The board will continue to monitor the weather Friday and will dismiss school early if warranted.
Also, the DHS Quarterback Club father/daughter dance has been postponed until Friday, March 5. Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital has also elected to postpone a reception for Healthcare Hero Angie Hurt until Friday, Feb. 19, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the classroom. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow.
Marengo Academy will be closed.
Marengo County schools will open at 8 a.m. for teachers with buses running their routes approximately an hour late. School will go in session at 9 a.m.
Linden City Schools will also open at 9 a.m., with buses running an hour late.
The University of West Alabama and the Demopolis Higher Education Center will also close Friday. On-campus classes will not meet, and all administrative offices will be closed. All faculty, staff and students should report for classes Monday, Feb. 15, as scheduled.
Evening classes will meet on Thursday, Feb. 11.
Young Hall Cafeteria will open Friday for breakfast (8 to 9 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and dinner (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.).
