The Disabled American Veterans will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at Napoleon’s restaurant.

The meeting is the group’s regular monthly meeting, but it will also host the District 3 meeting on April 10 at Napoleon’s.

“We’ll have people from here to Phenix City,” said commander Lee Belcher of Marengo County DAV Chapter 31. “They’ll come from Montgomery and Alexander City and Troy.

“We’ll be nominating for district commander, and they will be elected at the state convention in June in Montgomery.”

“We meet every month at Napoleon’s, usually on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00,” Belcher said. “We share information about changes in benefits and answer questions of our members. I usually collect all the proposed changes and current changes.”

The DAV transport van is one of the greatest additions to this area. However, the DAV is still seeking more drivers for the van to bring disabled veterans to their appointments at the Veterans Administration hospital in Tuscaloosa.
