DEMOPOLIS – After 11 years in Grove Hill, Ashley Jordan Fuller is expanding her dance school into Demopolis. Jordan’s School of Dance will offer a variety of dance styles to students age 3 through college-level.
Fuller, a native of Grove Hill, decided to open a new branch in Demopolis after area residents expressed an interest in her classes in Grove Hill.
“I was shocked that people would drive all the way to Grove Hill for the classes,” Fuller said. She knew that the school would be a hit in the area.
Jordan’s offers combination classes, which include ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance. For younger participants, lyrical dance is replaced with Children’s Creative Movement. Fuller said CCM allows the children to play games while also learning their basic techniques.
Fuller will be the only teacher for the five classes offered each week. At her Grove Hill location, she has a few student teachers that assist with teaching the younger children. She hopes to have that same convenience in Demopolis in the future.
Jordan’s School of Dance will be located within the Children’s Creative Arts Center at the old Church Aflame building.
Registration will be Sept. 22, 23 and 24. Classes will begin Wednesday, Oct. 5.
