GREENSBORO-The Thomasville Tigers rolled into Hale County with a high ranking and showed exactly why as they rolled past the Greensboro Raiders 48-8.

Thomasville controlled the tempo of the game from the opening kick, as Greensboro was only able to run 11 plays from scrimmage in the first half.

The Tiger offense opened the game with a slow, pounding drive capped by a Shamus Hudson 5 yard run. Dexter Law went in for the two point conversion to make the score 8-0 with 3:57 to go in the half.

The Tigers next possession as a quicker strike to the endzone as they needed only three plays before quarterback Jake Overstreet found Andrew Parden in the endzone for a 17 yard score. Overstreet took the air again on the two-point conversion attempt, this time finding Jarred Lewis to make the score 16- Thomasville with 1:44 remaining in the first quarter.

Greensboro received a spark as Rodereick Travis took the ensuing kickoff 85 yards to put the Raiders on the board. Greensboro used the momentum to covert the two point try as Lloyd Hambright fought through the line to make the score 16-8.

Unfortunately, it would be all Thomasville from that point on. The Tigers took their next possession 80 yards on six plays before Overstreet found Darrell Jackson for a 1-yard touchdown. Hudson added the two-point run to up the score to 24-8.

Thomasville added one more score with 5:40 to go in the half on a 7-yard run from Law. Again, Hudson made good on the two-point conversion attempt to give the Tigers a 32-8 halftime lead.

Greensboro was unable to adjust to the Thomasville scheme in the second half, while Thomasville came back at the same pace. The Tigers took their first possession 76 yards capped by an Anthony Henger 19 yard run and another Hudson two point conversion to make the score 40-8 with 10:14 to go in the half.

The Tigers would end their scoring on their next possession as Law got his second touchdown of the game on a short run. The two point conversion was good again capping the scoring at 48-8.

The Raiders will try to get back on the winning page as they host Bibb County next weekend for homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
