Local family sparks Down Syndrome awareness

The month of October is Down Syndrome awareness month.
The Ward family of Demopolis have two members of their family that were born with the trait including Jada Morris the daughter of Adrienne Fancher and Joe Morris, Jr., (front right) and Kelvin Ward (not shown) who is the son of Edward Ward.
Madison Chapman, Jada Morris, Jayden Morris, Jason Morris, Janece Chapman, Adrienne Fancher, Genelle Ward, Armisha Perry, Aggie Scott and Barbara Raymond are shown in the photo.
The family recently gathered to raise awareness of Down Syndrome learning about its myths and facts.
The family’s mottos are: “The extra chromosome just gives us more to love” and “To us there is nothing DOWN about it.”
