After 46 years of serving Demopolis as a nurse, Lois Rembert retired from Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
There was a party celebrating her retirement Wednesday afternoon at the hospital.
Whitfield CEO Mike Marshall said he was 4-years-old when Rembert started working at the hospital, and she has been a great part of BWWMH ever since and that she will be greatly missed.
“People forget what you say to them,” he said, “but they never forget how you make them feel.”
Rembert said she enjoyed her 46 years at BWWMH and taking care of her patients.
“It’s been great, and I’ve really enjoyed it,” she said. “My favorite part of being here was taking care of patients.”
She said she does not yet know what she will do now that she is retired.
