DEMOPOLIS-The time to send in nominations for St. Nicholas is here again. The crowning of St. Nicholas will be held Monday Nov. 28, however, the time to nominate is now.

The deadline for nominations is Monday Nov. 21.

Kelley Smith, Events and Tourism Coordinator, said the event is a favorite among the COTR celebrations.

“St. Nick is always a fun and exciting event,” Smith said. “It is always fun to see who the community will honor each year.”

Smith said it was always great to see all of the positive things people were doing in Demopolis.

“It is just a fun and exciting event,” Smith said. “It is great to see all of the different nominees and all of the positive things they have done in the community. It is always tough to select just one person to honor.”

The nominee should be a member of the community who portrays the “Spirit of Christmas” through giving al year long and with regards to children.

Nominations should be in the form of a letter. Please be sure to give complete information about what the nominee is involved in and why they would be the best representatives of the “Sprit of Christmas.”

Nominations should be sent to the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 667, Demopolis, Al 36732. Nominations may also be dropped off at the Chamber office.
