Profiling what makes us great

Inside today’s edition of the Demopolis Times you will find the 2010 installment of Profile.
It’s an annual publication that spotlights our area and what makes it great.
Given that – economically – we’re coming off a tough year, we decided to focus on the one unwavering thing that makes our county great: Our people.
In these 22 pages, you’ll find profiles and brief question and answers that spotlight some of our greatest assets.
People are what showcase our county around the clock. Be that here in Demopolis, in Linden, Sweet Water or anywhere else. With this edition, we’re pleased to recognize our greatest natural resource: The men and women who call Marengo County home.
Months of work and preparation went into producing this section. My thanks go out to the local businesses who supported the 2010 edition of Profile.
I encourage each of you to patronize these local establishments, tell them you saw them in this year’s Profile edition. They, too, play an enormous role in what we’re able to accomplish in this annual production.
My thanks to the readers who are either making their way toward this section after reading this column or have already passed through those pages. We hope you found it entertaining and we hope you learned something new about a neighbor or found a new friend on these pages.
Also, my thanks to Tiffany Cannon and Jordan Etheridge, who worked with our advertisers to draft an exciting and eye-catching marketing program for this edition.
And thanks, also, to Jeremy Smith and David Snow for producing much of the copy found on these pages.
If you are featured in this publication, thank you for letting us tell your story.
I hope each of you enjoys this installment of Profile, and we look forward to what the next year may bring.
