MONTGOMERY – Alabama Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a 45-year-old Bibb County man Tuesday after identifying three teenagers who had been sexually abused by the man. Jeffery Lynn Murphy of Brent was charged with three counts each of first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, and enticing a child for immoral purposes.
ABI Chief Major Ken Hallford said the investigation was initiated upon request of Bibb County Sheriff Keith Hannah and Brent Police Chief Terry Nichols.
Hallford said the three victims were all younger than 12 when the abuse began. He said the investigation of Murphy, a Little League coach for approximately 15 years, is continuing.
