In a battle of the Bulldogs, Sweet Water (5-1, 4-0) will play host to Washington County (6-0, 4-0) Friday night.
Head coach Stacy Luker said that, even though Washington County is undefeated coming into the game, nothing changes with his teams’ preparation.
“We aren’t going to do anything we don’t normally do,” he said. “We’re going to go out there and practice this week and be ready to play on Friday.”
Washington County is a team that shifts between Class 3A and Class 2A quite often, and are back in 2A this year after being in 3A last season. In the preseason, they were one of the favorites to win the tough Class 2A Region 1.
Luker feels like his team is improving every week and their goals are still the same as they were in week one.
“Our goal right now is still to make the playoffs, win the region, then win state,” he said. “We have definitely improved this season.”
