Day in the life of Demopolis Public Library

Morgan Grimes, library director, and her library staff worked this past Thursday to compile statistics detailing a day in the life of a library including number of items checked out and number of patrons visiting for the day as a part of Snapshot Day.
Some interesting facts from the day include:
•Number of people who walked through door: 470
•Number of people helped with job-related issues: 11
•Number of people helped with school-related issues: 31
•Number of questions answered: 42
•Total items checked out: 376
•Number of children who attended a program: 0
•Number of adults who attended a program: 21 (Chamber After Hours)
•Number of people who used a computer: 129
The Demopolis Public Library joined public libraries across the state in participating in “Snapshot Day: One Day in the Life of Alabama Public Libraries” on Thursday, Sept. 27 to show how important public libraries and library systems are to the state of Alabama.
The library also hosted the Chamber’s After Hours from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
