Deacon and Master Sgt. John L. Harris Sr., age 62 of Lauderdale, Mississippi died July 27, 2006, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Miss.
Funeral Services with full military honors will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006, at
noon at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in York.
The Rev. Pearce Jenkins will officiate.
Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Larkin&Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis entrusted with arrangements.
The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
Masonic hour and family hour will be held Friday night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in York.
Survivors include a loving&devoted wife, Mrs. Georgia Mae Harris, Lauderdale, Miss.; three devoted children, Derrick Harris, John Harris Jr. and Leslie (James) Brown, Lauderdale, Miss.; four grandchildren, Toni Janae Walker, Quindarius Landrum, Tyson Landrum&Keenan Law, all of Lauderdale, Miss.; one god-son, Reginald Horn, Meridian, Miss.; four brothers, Roosevelt Harris, Oberlin, Ohio, Joe Harris Jr., Elyria, Ohio and Chancie Harris, Coatopa, and Leroy Harris, Lauderdale, Miss.; three sisters, Pearlie Harris, Detroit,Mich., Julia Bush, Elyria, Ohio and Elvira Lard, Lauderdale, Miss.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Mr. Harris served as Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of the Sunday School, Deacon, Retired Master Sgt. He retired at the United States Air National Guard, Key Field, Meridian, Miss.
He also served as Chief of the Center Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Lauderdale, Miss., and was the owner of Harris&Sons Trucking Company, Lauderdale, Miss.
Edith Perry
Edith Perry, age 84 of the Miller’s Community in Linden, Alabama died July 19, 2006, at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Linden.
The Rev. Reginald Atkins officiated.
Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Linden.

Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Hosea of Linden and Dorothy Charley of Manhattan, N.Y.; three sons, Robert Perry of Detroit, Mich., Joe (Betty) Perry of Uniontown and Thomas (Eva) Perry of Bronx, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Pritchett of Birmingham; four sisters in law, Johnnie Mae Perry, Annie Mae Perry, Elmira Watkins and Agnes Watkins, all of Linden; five nieces, five nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
