The latest edition of the Alabama Sports Writers Association baseball and softball polls released Thursday, featuring Marengo Academy at the top of both sports in the AISA and Sweet Water up to No. 2 overall in AHSAA Class 1A.

The Bulldogs debuted at No. 3 when the first polls were released more than a week ago. Since its 4-6 start, Sweet Water put together a 3-0 week before the release of the second poll. The Bulldogs picked up a 4-1 area win over Billingsley before getting a15-0 win over Catholic of Huntsville and a 10-7 victory over Class 3A Trinity-Montgomery.
