A passenger in the vehicle that was fired upon on U.S. Highway 80 in Demopolis on Nov. 24 has been identified as the same victim of the McDonald’s shooting on Nov. 3.

At the preliminary hearing for Sterling Bradford Rowe, the man accused discharging a weapon at an occupied vehicle, Detective Sgt. Tim Soronen said the incident might have been linked to the earlier shooting, in which Bryan Gracie was also a victim. He said Rowe admitted to firing on the vehicle when he was questioned by the police about the incident.

Soronen said a search of the vehicle Gracie was in after the incident failed to uncover a weapon. He said the passengers of vehicle struck reported the incident and were directed to come to the police station.

Soronen said after the two had been read their Miranda rights and were in questioning both admitted to the shooting. He said he searched the other vehicle for a weapon after Rowe and the juvenile said they too had a weapon.

Soronen said the vehicle fired upon was occupied by Antron Sanders, Gracie, Dewayne Sanders and two minors, ages one and 12. He said the incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m.

Soronen said the vehicles position behind the other vehicle indicates that the shooting was not self-defense, as the driver could have simply broken off the encounter if behind the second vehicle.

Judge Wade Drinkard, presiding over the preliminary hearing said there was enough evidence to send the case to a grand jury. The next grand jury term is Feb. 5-9.
