DEMOPOLIS &8212; The city Board of Education contracted McKee and Associates to design a new athletic complex at the high school on Tuesday night.
The athletic complex project became a reality after the city council gave their support to a $2 million bond to assist in the development last week. The board of education is putting up $100,000 of seed money and will pay any costs above $2 million.
McKee and Associates will design the complex, which includes a football stadium, soccer field, track and accommodating buildings.
These buildings will consist of two field houses, storage, restrooms and concession stands.
The board will pay for the fees associated with the design with the $100,000 seed money. They will also incur the early costs of contractors in figuring the total amount of the project.
