William &8220;Bill&8221; Camp Blackwell

MOBILE &8212; William &8220;Bill&8221; Camp Blackwell Sr., 68, of Linden, passed away Thursday, May 31, at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile.

Blackwell was a native and former resident of Columbia. He was a graduate of Auburn University. He was a retired forester after working for over thirty years in Marengo County. Prior to death, he was working to reestablish the American Chestnut Tree in this area. He was a member of the Geneva Presbyterian Church and was a former mason with the Linden Masonic Lodge F&AM.

Funeral services were held at O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden, on Saturday, June 2, at 11a.m. with the Rev. Scott Armstrong officiating. Graveside services were held at Columbia City Cemetery in Columbia, on Sunday June 3, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine H. Blackwell of Linden, daughters, Nathalie Blackwell (Jack) Fox of Denver, Colo., Susan Blackwell (Dave) Bossie of Ashton, MD, Son-Bo (Sondra) Blackwell of Daphne, and seven Grandchildren, Camp Blackwell of Daphne, Stan Fox of Denver, Colo., Sophie Fox of Denver, Colo., Henry Fox of Denver, Colo., Isabella Bossie of Ashton, Md., Griffin Bossie of Ashton, Md., and Lily Campbell of Ashton, Md.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean McGriff Blackwell, and his brother, Tommy Blackwell.

Honorary Pallbearers were Wiley Chapman, Goodloe Sutton, Jerry Vice, Lamar Ballard, John and Jean Echols, Pat Vice and Pat Windham.

Frances S. Hamilton

LAKEWORTH, Fla. &8212; Frances S. Hamilton, 66, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Fla.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw with the Rev. Dee McGuire officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis will be in charge of services.

The Hamilton family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007.

Survivors include her two brothers, Ervin Hamilton and Curtis (Betty) Hamilton, sister-in-law, Mary Hamilton, wife of the late Grayfield Hamilton, nieces, Kay and Beth Hamilton, nephews, Grayfield (Pam) Hamilton Jr. and Curtis (Paula) Hamilton Jr., grand nieces and grand nephews, Trey Hamilton, Aprille Hamilton, Dillon Hamilton and Ashlyn Hamilton.

She graduated from the University of Alabama and received a Masters Degree from Florida State University and later a Specialist degree in Library Science from the University of Alabama.

Hamilton educated students for over 30 years in the public school system.

She enjoyed traveling around the United States and abroad and especially enjoyed observing wildlife.

Theresa F. Janss

HUNTSVILLE &8212; Theresa F. Janss, 95, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 in Huntsville, Ala.

Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at St. Leo&8217;s Catholic Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Michael Wrigley officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors directing services.

A Rosary will be held for Janss at 6 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Alice Bequaith of Iowa, one brother, John Micklic and his wife, Louise, of Huntsville and a host of nieces and nephews.
