The first day of high school football practice is Monday, Aug. 6.

Players will be reporting to their schools to begin preparations for the upcoming season. Some teams will be running two-a-days for the first few days to help with conditioning, and also to avoid the sweltering, mid-day heat.

School starts on Aug. 20 for most local schools, and the season kicks off on Aug. 31 for all Marengo County teams except for Marengo Academy, whose first game is on Aug. 24.
