THOMASTON &8212; After a week off to rest, work on areas that coach Scottie Jones identified as crucial and put the finishing touches on their schemes, the A.L. Johnson High School football team is again gearing up to hit the field Friday night.

Jones said last week&8217;s work for the team focused solely on what the Eagles needed to mature and grow as a cohesive unit. And just as last week was all about looking at A.L. Johnson football, so will this week be focused on South Lamar High School Football.

Jones said while his team has been focusing on themselves last week, he has had an opportunity to pour over South Lamar film and watch the group face off against John Essex High School last Friday night. From this he has identified quarterback Justin Block and tailback Casey Jones as threats.

To make matters worse, Jones said the group runs a spread offense out of several sets to fully utilize their speed &8212; something he thinks helps set up the team&8217;s running game.
