Linden High School head coach Andro Williams tells his team week in and week out the war on the gridiron is won on the line, but he is also quick to note that on offense it doesn&8217;t hurt to have depth at the running back position. Lucky for him and the rest of the Patriots it appears his team has both.

In his team&8217;s 60-8 win over A.L. Johnson High School Friday night, junior Korneilus Fountain was tapped to step into the starting fullback position normally held by team leader on offense and defense Maurice Tate. Fountain not only filled in, but surpassed expectations with a 247 yard rushing performance on 16 carries.

Fountain ran tough to an average of 15-plus yards a carry and a touchdown every four times he touched the ball. Of his four scores, two were from more than 40 yards out, with 44- and 49-yard yard runs &8212; both of which occurred with under three minutes remaining in the first half. His other two runs to the end zone were from 28- and 3-yards out.

And he did, though Fountain didn&8217;t find out until later.
