University of Alabama football great Darwin Holt spoke to the Demopolis Kiwanis Club yesterday.
Holt holds the unique distinction of being the only player to play for Coach Bryant at two different schools, taking the field with “Bear” at both Texas A&M and Alabama.
Holt’s football accolades include being featured on the cover of the 1961 University of Alabama Media Guide. He was a pre-season All-American that year and was later recognized as a first-team linebacker on “Alabama’s Team of the Super 60’s Decade.”
In 1975, Holt founded the highly acclaimed “First and Ten Club of Alabama.”
In this role, for the last 35 years, he has mentored former Alabama athletes in finding career opportunities.
Holt spoke on behalf of the Alabama Technology Network (ATN), a grant funded organization that helps train small companies in Alabama with the skills that only larger companies can typically afford.
