Community supports projects to better itself
Rotary Tourney
The Demopolis Rotary Club hosted the 35th annual Demopolis Rotary Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament raised around $6,000 to be split between Camp ASCA and local charities, tournament.
Library relief
This month, the Demopolis Public Library will accept food items in exchange for clearing $1 off a patron&8217;s fine as a way to support the Demopolis Food Pantry. The idea came from the children&8217;s librarian Kelly Tarpley. The exchange was an effort to support the food pantry as a community service project.
Going green
The Demopolis High School and a local recycling enthusiast, Broughton W. Rogers, are bringing the trend of recycling back to the area. Rogers, a social studies teacher for Linden High School, and the National Science Honor Society at DHS are teaming up to collect paper products for recycling.
