DEMOPOLIS &8212; The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual fishing tournament Saturday, paying out more than $2,000 while giving away a slew of door prizes in the process.
Included among those prizes was a GPS iFinder, a giveaway Smith said drew a fair amount of buzz.
The tournament pulled 25 boats, a number Smith said organizers were pleased with.
The tournament&8217;s top prize, $1,500, went to Gregg McPherson and Wayne Langley, who hauled 16.38 pounds on the day. Second prize, a $500 payout, went to David Henson and Gary Jackson who pulled 13.46 pounds out of the Tombigbee. Jeff and Howard Richey&8217;s 13.3-pound catch proved to be good enough to earn the $300 third prize. The big fish prize of $250 went to Henson and Jackson.
