The Two Rivers Arts Council will present a holiday Brass concert by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Demopolis High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 dollars for non-members and can be purchased at the door. Students will receive free admission.
The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra performance has been made possible through a grant from the Black Belt Community Foundation and through member donations. The TSO performed a holiday concert in past years in Demopolis and is always well received. TSO musicians are comprised of faculty members and extraordinary students from the University of Alabama’s School of Music, members of the Alabama Symphony in Birmingham, and professional musicians from across Alabama, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis and other locations within a two hundred and fifty mile radius.
“Hearing the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra perform a holiday concert is perfect way to relax after Christmas on the River and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season,” said Morgan Grimes, president of Two Rivers Arts Council. “We are fortunate to be able to bring this level of talent to our area. Everyone who attends is in for night of musical enjoyment!”
The Two Rivers Arts Council was formed in the 1970’s to encourage and stimulate the practice and appreciation of the arts among the people living in Demopolis and Marengo County.
The Council thrives to bring quality arts exhibits and performances to the community it serves and to assist and encourage local efforts which enable the community to create and make their own arts.
