Families visit relatives and friends for the summer

Wynell Stokes went to Eutaw, July 3 to visit her daughter, Trudi, Robby and Brooks Finley. Their cousin, Preston Sutton of Wichita, Kansas had been visiting the Finley’s since June 30. July 4 Trudi, Brooks and Wynell took Preston to Jackson, Miss., where he took a flight for a trip home. The others joined family and friends at the Finley’s camp house at West Green until July 6, when they return to Eutaw. Wynell returned home July 8 after an enjoyable visit.
Brenda Johnston, Renee Hinson and Cason Cook attended a bridal shower from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 6 at the First United Security Bank Conference Room in Centerville, honoring Brenda’s son, Eddie Johnston’s bride elect, Lynn Hudson. Congratulations Eddie and Lynn. Brenda, Renee and Carson visited Brenda’s mother, Mrs. R.T. Moore while in Centerville.
Bobby and Karen Lindsey vacationed July 5-8 in Foley, enjoying sight seeing and the beach. They took the Ferry from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island where they toured the Sea Lab and other points of interest.
Gaines and Pat Vick had dinner with their friends, Grady and Faye Martin in Womack Hills, July 7 afternoon. Faye is recuperating nicely after suffering injuries from a fall, remember her in prayer.
Wayne and Pam Gibbs, David and Amy Davidson, Madison and Jacob, Ethan Biggs and Tate Gibbs vacationed July 6-11 at Pigeon Forge, Ind., where they attended Splash Country, Dixie Stampede, the Comedy Barn and other attractions. They motored on to Gatlinburg, Tenn. for sight seeing and attending interesting places.
The Caleb Cruisers of Providence Baptist Church enjoyed an outing July 8 at Hale Smith’s camp house and Lakes in Faunsdale. Those attending were Gaines and Pat Vick Sadie Merle Whitcomb, Maggie Quinney, Margaret Cross, Wynell Stokes, Minnie Foxhall, Trula Vee Quinney, Mattie Harrison, Dora Labid and Mildred Duke. Hale Smith, Ness Smith, Robbie Smith and Corey Smith visited with the group also.
Providence expresses sympathy to the family of Nannie Mae Sawyer in her death recently. Her funeral was held at Providence Baptist Church with burial in Providence Cemetery.
Sug and Arlene Barnes visited their daughter, Robin and Ben Ponder, Jackson and Mary Beth, in Moundville July 9-10. They baby sat Jackson and Mary Beth while their parents were working.
Providence expresses sympathy to the family of Pat Vice. His funeral was held at Linden Baptist Church on June 19 with burial at Choctaw Corner Cemetery near Thomasville.
Connie Ballas enjoyed spending July 12-13 with her daughter, Tonya and Ron Lonergan, Anna and Paige in Chatom.
Providence express sympathy to the family of Louise Etheridge in her death June 21. Her funeral was held June 23 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with buried at Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Marsha Vogel and daughters, Rachael and Morgan of Montgomery spent July 12-13 with her parents, Jerry and Brenda Ray. Marsha returned home July 13 and Rachael and Morgan is spending the week with their grandparents and attending vacation bible school at Providence Baptist Church.

Gaines and Pat Vick met their daughter, Debra Petrarca and Nicki of Apex, N.C. in Commerce, Ga. on July 11. After spending the night, Debra returned to Apex and Nicki accompanied her grandparent’s home for a two-week visit. They are enjoying VBS at Providence Baptist Church this week.
Providence expresses sympathy to the family of Dorothy Fikes Combs in her death July 7. Her funeral was held at Kidd Ribbon Chapel July 9 with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
Steve and Terry Miller enjoyed having Steve’s uncle and aunt, Charles and Maryann Miller of Ashford visit on Saturday. They enjoyed dining out at lunch and visiting to catch up on family news.
