A power outage that hit Demopolis shortly before lunch Monday has temporarily has been attributed to a failure at the local substation yesterday.
“We had a piece of equipment which failed in one of our transmission substations,” said Diane Brooker, Business Office Manager for Demopolis and Linden. “We picked up the (affected) customers from other substations in the area to get our customers back on while we made the necessary repairs. The repairs were completed by midafternoon and no other problems were seen by our customers. The total time without power for the interruption was less than 20 minutes.”
