John Few has joined the staff of The Demopolis Times as a reporter.
Few comes to Demopolis from Meridian, Miss., where he worked at The Meridian Star. He was also the Editor and Publisher of “Meridian & East Mississippi” and “Meridian Plus” magazines. Few also co-founded “Meridian Plus,” a family-friendly magazine that focused on community events, entertainment and activities.
Few began his journalism career as the news editor of three different weekly publications in south central Mississippi: The Taylorsville Post, the Smith County Reformer and the Jasper County News. He also was the managing editor of a company-owned magazine, “Senior Lifestyles,” in Hattiesburg.
“We’re pleased to welcome John to our news staff and I think he will be a great addition,” Times publisher Jason Cannon said. “His strong writing background will translate well in the Demopolis Times and our other publications.”
Few has three daughters: Amy, 12; Susan, 7; and Madison, 5.
“Living this close to Demopolis, I have always had connections to Demopolis growing up,” he said. “Being a history buff, I know that Demopolis has a rich history that cannot be ignored, especially the downtown area. I’m excited about coming here, getting involved and meeting people and working here.”
