Thomaston native Terry Counselman will have his chance at local fame at the Brian W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital’s quarterly art exhibit.
Counselman’s artwork was hung in the hospital Thursday where it will remain for the next three months.
“This is my first show,” he said. “I’ve entered art shows but I’ve never had an exhibit like this before.”
Counselman’s exhibit is compiled of 24 pieces, mostly acrylic paintings and pencil drawings.
“I got started when I was about five years old,” he said. “Truthfully, my mother gave me a tablet at church to keep me quiet during the service and I’ve been with it ever since.”
Counselman’s art exhibit will officially open with a reception 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the hospital.
