Charles Edgar “Ed” Price

Charles Edgar “Ed” Price, 80, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 at a local Covenant Hospice Facility.

Ed served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a member of a UDT team. He received a medical discharge after being injured during the invasion of Inchon. He retired from Southern Bell / AT&T in 1985.

He also worked at NAS Communications and ultimately retired in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his 8 year old daughter, Dana Joyce Price; his parents, Charles Porter Price and Letitia Merritt Price; his sister and brother-in-law, Callie (Kay) Ocain and Richard Ocain; brother, James Samuel (Sam) Price.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Joyce Leverett Price; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Dirk Price (Cherie) of Pensacola, FL and John Price (Sandra) of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Mary Arlene Price; foster sister and her husband, Louise (Bill) Rankin; special cousin, Linda Boley Faulk (Jimmy) and family; his two adopted granddaughters, Jessica and Katie Voelpel and their mother, Chris LaTour; and a sister-in-law, Jan Price and family.

Visitation was held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service was held 10 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Bayview Memorial Park.
