Heed Habitat for Humanity cries for help

A little more than a year after breaking ground on its second home, the Marengo County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is at risk of having to pause construction.
With funds rapidly depleting, a work stoppage on construction appears to be on the horizon.
Habitat is a very worthy organization and its mission is admirable.
Despite the possibility of a shut down, volunteers continue to work on the house every Saturday morning to get the job done.
However, with approximately one month of funding left – and just enough siding to finish that portion of the project – construction could be put on hold shortly after the siding is installed.
If you’re considering contributing a little something to a worthy cause, we hope you’ll give serious study to our local Habitat chapter.
