Avis Vivian Clements Payne

Avis Vivian Clements Payne, 80, died July 29 at her home in Demopolis. Born May 1, 1931 in Greensboro to the late Johnny Murphy and Venola Duncan Clements, she was preceded in death by her son, James B. Payne III, sister Sara Nell Ables and brother J.L. Clements.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Payne Jr. of Demopolis, daughter Cynthia Payne (Bobby) Davis of Demopolis, sister Annie Lou (Johnny) Clibrey of Greensboro, brother J.C. (Frances) Clements of Dothan, grandchildren Rob (Staci) Davis of Demopolis and Ashley Davis (Chris) Petrey of Demopolis, great grandchildren Bailey Petrey, Macey Petrey, Davis Petrey, Bayne Petrey, Camdon Davis, Chandler McCrory and Colin McCrory.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Fairhaven Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Dr. Allen Atkins and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial followed at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Perry County. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m.
Active Pallbearers included Rob Davis, Chris Petrey, Bill Wilkins, David Payne, Tommy Payne and Davis Petrey.
Honorary Pallbearers included the ladies six Sunday School Class, past and present co-workers at Walmart, YAH Club, Southern Care Hospice, Lougertha (Shot) Watkins, Dorothy Richardson, Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Dr. Ronnie Chu and Physicians Family Healthcare employees.
