Thank you for your part in looking for the cure

Marengo County held its annual Relay for Life event on Friday at River Field here in Demopolis, and the turnout was amazing.
For the last few months, organizers have been planning the schedule of events and meeting with teams captains. Teams have been raising funds and working on their plans for Friday night’s main event.
However, the night would be meaningless without the donations. We want to thank everyone who gave to the cause, whether it was a large, magnanimous donation or a few dollars. Every donation counts and brings us a step closer to the cure.
We want to thank the organizers, team members and those who worked with the teams for their action and participation in this year’s Relay for Life.
We want to thank the cancer survivors and their caretakers for providing such an inspiration for all of us. It is for these people and those that follow that we are raising money for the American Cancer Society in the search for better treatments and, eventually, a cure.
We want to thank everyone who contributed their time and talents to Relay for Life, whether you were with it from the beginning or pitching in for a few minutes at the site.
Each year finds us closer to finding a cure, but it takes funding and education. Relay for Life is the annual fund-raising event that brings communities together for a common cause, fighting against something that affects us all in one way or another.
We wanted to let all of you know that your efforts did not go unnoticed. We are proud of you all who took part in Relay for Life, who gave to the American Cancer Society, who remembered a loved one or honored a cancer survivor. Thanks to those who are examples of the ability to beat the disease. Someday, the cure will be found, and when that day comes, you can be proud of the part you played in getting that done.
