The Demopolis Kiwanis Club held its annual fund-raising fish fry on Saturday at the Demopolis Sports-Plex in conjunction with George Spence Day.
For the last few weeks, Kiwanis members have been selling tickets to the fish fry.
At the club meeting on Tuesday, it was reported that it sold 220 plates, which included tickets sold that were not redeemed.
The fish fry is one of the biggest fund-raisers for the club all year. The Kiwanis Club will also sponsor its 15th annual bass tournament on Saturday, May 23, at the Demopolis city landing.
Funds raised at these fund-raisers help the Kiwanis Club make donations to its projects and charities.
Funds raised on Saturday went to work quickly, as the Kiwanis Club was able to make a donation to Demopolis City Schools on Tuesday.
