Police and state troopers stopped traffic on U.S. Highway 43 south of U.S. Highway 80 Saturday morning after an accident involving an 18-wheeler between The Market Place entrance and Riverside Apartments.

One person is believed to have been killed. While DPD has yet to comfirm a fatality, witnesses claim one man was killed.
