Linden High School head football coach and athletic director Andro Williams has found his man.
Pending a meeting of the Linden City Schools Board of Education Monday, Roosevelt Moore will join Williams’ staff as an assistant football coach and head basketball coach.
“I like what he can bring to the table and the fact that he’s been in an atmosphere that he’s had to coach a wide range of school-aged athletes and has had to coach a lot of different sports,” Williams said of Moore, who spent the the last three years coaching at Highland Home High School.
“He’s very versatile.”
Prior to his stint at Highland Home, Moore served as an assistant football and baseball coach at Opp High School and assisted with the football program at Charles Henderson High.
“You just need someone who is loyal to what’s going on, loyal to the school, the program and what we’ve got going on here,” Williams said of Moore, who will fill a health and physical education slot at the middle school if approved. “I think he’s going to be a real asset to what we’re doing here in all of our phases.”
