There will be a movie showing this Friday at Bluff Hall, and it’s not only free — it’s on the house.
The movie “Angels in the Outfield” will be shown on the back side of antebellum home Bluff Hall on North Commissioners Avenue.
The movie is sponsored by the Marengo County Historical Society with assistance from Collins Communications.
“Several years ago, we had a movie on the back of Bluff Hall during the whole Marengo Memories Movie Magic that William Gantt was doing here,” said Kirk Brooker of the MCHS. “Those were movies that had a connection with Demopolis. We decided to resurrect the idea this summer.
“It’s supposed to be a night of family fun, and it’s totally free. It’s the Friday night kicking off the Fourth of July weekend, and families can come out, bring blankets to lay on the ground, bring their own snacks and drinks and enjoy the movie. It’s a real family fun movie.”
Brooker said that the MCHS is grateful to Collins Communications personnel for setting up the projector and sound system as well as providing other technical assistance.
“The movie will begin at 9 p.m,,” Brooker said. “I know that’s late, but we have to make sure that it’s dark.”
