Demopolis High School will have an open house on Thursday, Aug. 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Parents will experience their children’s schedule, moving from class to class in the order that their children go during the school day, spending about 10 minutes in each classroom. Parents and students are asked to begin the open house at the students’ first-period classroom.
“The parents will have the opportunity to meet the teachers,” said DHS principal Leon Clark. “The teachers will have information available for the parents. It’s a chance for the parents and teachers to meet and exchange information. This will help create a good relationship between the parent and teacher and the teacher and student.”
Information provided by the teachers will include an introduction, a course syllabus, Web site information and STI Home information.
The open house will not provide time for parent-teacher conferences, but those can be arranged through a sign-up sheet in each classroom.
