Taxpayers need swift resolution

The discussion about whether or not to repeal a 2007 vote that gave the state legislature a pay raise will likely last for quite some time.
Much has already been said about whether or not the move will make a genuine difference. The key for the legislature is to not burn too much more more time and taxpayer dollars tending to the matter.
We are in difficult economic times for certain. And the last thing any “common” people who are not getting 62 percent pay raises want to hear is a bunch of people who are supposed to be representing their best interests squabbling over how much money they are going to pay themselves.
Whatever the verdict is, the legislature should settle the matter quickly and efficiently.
