Lindyburg “Lindy” Lindsey, 83, a retired butcher of Gallion died Wednesday, Oct. 20 at his home. He was born May 13, 1927 in Eutaw. He was a member of the Gallion Baptist Church and a member of VFW Post No. 5377. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the U.S.S Ticonderoga. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ward Lindsey of Gallion, sons James William Lindsey of Panama City, Fla., Lindyburg Lindsey Jr. of Sweet Water, Bobby Aiken (Karen) Lindsey of Linden, Fred Michael (Donna) Lindsey of Monroeville, step sons Robert Kenneth “Ken” (Annie) Ward, Jr. of Gallion, John Paul (Pat) Ward of Linden, Bobby Bruce (Amber) Ward of Linden, daughters Linda Lindsey (Tom) Kirklewski of Demopolis, Belle Lindsey (Dewaine) Sealy of Sweet Water, step daughter Elizabeth Joyce (Tommy) Borom of Russellville, sister Dot Lindsey (Kenneth) Freeman of Demopolis, 29 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Belle Aiken Lindsey, brothers Richard Edward Lindsey, James Lindsey and Joe W. Lindsey and step son Billy Joe Ward. Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden on Friday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tony Earl Cannon officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park, Linden. Active pallbearers were Lindyburg Lindsey III, Will Lindsey, Adam Sealy, James Lindsey, Tim Jackson, John Jackson and Jared Lindsey.
