The deadline to order from Angel Food Ministries for the month of September is Monday, Sept. 14. The pick-up date is Saturday, Sept. 26. The deadline to order online is Sunday, Sept. 13, at midnight.

Local churches taking part in the Angel Food Ministries are New Life Church at 1110 Sam St. and Church Aflame at 431 U.S. Highway 80 East. Orders can be taken through Sept. 14 at New Life Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and at Church Aflame daily until 3 p.m. Pickup times on Sept. 26 are 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Life and from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Church Aflame.

Angel Food Ministries is a non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. The program began in Monroe, Ga., in 1994 and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families in 35 states.

Angel Food provides food packages at varying costs. Patrons must purchase at least one package from one of the four signature menus before purchasing other items, but all food packages cost less than retail value. Packages that cost $30 from Angel Food can cost from $42 to $78 off the shelf. Food packages are designed to provide balanced nutrition and to feed a family of four for a week.
