An Editorial Opinion of The Demopolis Times
Many workers in our area are either searching for jobs or are potentially trying to advance their careers so that they can provide more for their growing families.
When you have to look for a job, it can be a stressful and tiring task to find something that is the right fit for you. Maybe you’re someone who just recently moved into the area. Maybe you are just out of college looking for work. Perhaps you were laid off from a job and need to find something before the severance package expires.
Whatever your reasons are, sometimes you may not know where to go. West AlabamaWorks is looking to help you.
They are having a hiring event on Feb. 20 at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center. We don’t know everyone who is going to be there just yet, but we expect there to be a good selection. Right now, many employers are looking to fill positions and are looking for skilled labor.
Having a hiring event like this is crucial to the local economy. The more people who are working and getting paid higher salaries, the more money that will be injected into businesses here in Demopolis and across the county.
We applaud the work of West AlabamaWorks and other local organizations that take the time to help connect prospective workers in Marengo County with potential employers. We are hopeful that more events like this will continue.
