Eddie Coats of Demopolis has been selected as part of the cast for “Chicago” put on by the The Actor’s

Coats plays the role a member of the male ensemble. The Demopolis native first discovered his passion for acting at a young age. His journey in the performing arts began in the fourth grade when he took on the role of Pinocchio in The Canebrake Players’ production.

This early experience ignited a love for theatre that has only grown over the years. In addition to his acting career, Coats is committed to furthering his education. He is currently pursuing a degree in English Language Arts Secondary Education at The University of Alabama. This reflects his passion for literature, dramatics and language.

Eddie has accumulated a portfolio over the years, participating in over 20 theatrical productions. Notable performances include his role in The Act’s production of “Newsies” in 2022 as Albert and in 2024, he appeared in “Seussical” as a Wickersham Brother.

Performances are scheduled for Feb. 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances at 2 p.m. are schedule for Feb. 9, 15 and 16. Tickets are $20 for reserved seats, $25 for reserved table seats and $18 for seniors and students.
