UWA moves up to No. 15 in polls

WACO, Texas – The University of West Alabama football team moved up to No. 15 in the latest edition of the ACFA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll following a 28-7 win over West Georgia at Tiger Stadium. The win improved the Tigers to 3-1 on the year and 1-0 in Gulf South Conference action.
The top five in the rankings remained unchanged with Grand Valley State retaining the top spot. The Lakers received 21 of the 26 first-place votes. The University of Minnesota at Duluth collected two votes in second and fellow Gulf South Conference member North Alabama garnered the final three first-place votes at third in the rankings. California (Pa.) and Abilene Christian round out the top five respectively.
Delta State moved up three spots to No. 19 setting up a Top 20 clash inside the Gulf South Conference between the Tigers and Statesmen Thursday in the regionally televised GSC-TV Game of the Week. The Green and White defeated Henderson State 41-37 over the weekend.
Valdosta State, Ouachita Baptist and Arkansas Tech all received votes to conclude the GSC contingent.
