The Demopolis City Schools Foundation saw its second annual cornhole tournament turn out another big success.
DCSF executive director Margaret Anne Gilchrist said the tournament was fun to put on last year, and everyone wanted to participate in another tournament this year.
“People were already talking about the next tournament, so it’s fun to see the excitement from everyone,” Gilchrist said. “We appreciate all those that contributed by sponsoring teams, sponsoring the winning team prize, donating raffle items, donating food/drinks and just the overall community support of this event.
The winning team was Collins Communications. Team members were Dustin Pounders and Brandon Schroeder. They received a prize donated by Soggy Bottom Lodge.
Also, the career and technical education students at Demopolis High School made all of the cornhole boards for the tournament.
“A special thank you to them and to Paint N Supply for donating the materials,” Gilchrist added. “We will be auctioning off three cornhole sets made by the students.”
She said the foundation would be announcing how to participate in the auction at a later time.
