Halloween Decorations Contest
The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce will have its Halloween/Fall Yard of the Month contest. Judging will be based on Creativity: Unique themes and decorations; Curb Appeal: Overall attractiveness from the street; Seasonal Spirit: Embracing autumn and Halloween vibes; Effort: Visible time and care put into the yard; and Community Impact: How it brings joy to neighbors. Get ready to enchant us with your fall magic!
Free Medicare Counseling
The Alabama Tombigbee Regional Commission will have a free Medicare counseling event during open enrollment for the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 9-11 a.m. at Linden Senior Center, 323 N. DUMC Bazaar
Demopolis Methodist Women Bazaar will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 200 East Decatur Street, Demopolis. The chicken salad lunch begins at 11 a.m. Plate is $12 and a sandwich is $8. Dine in or Take Out. There will also be a bake room full of cakes, pies, casseroles, soups and more. The silent auction also features home decor, furniture art, and more. The auction ends at 1 p.m. Take-outs for the Bazaar should be received by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 12. DCSF cornhole tournament
The Demopolis City Schools Foundation’s second annual Cornhole Tournament will be Nov. 14 starting at 5:45 p.m. on the Demopolis High School tennis courts. Registration for teams is $60 There will be raffles and prizes given along with an auction for board designed by Mr. Vann’s CTE classes. The tournament will be double elimination. Register and pay online by visiting www.demopolis.org. Check and cash payments are accepted as well.
