The Linden High School volleyball team picked up its first win in school history Thursday, downing Keith on the road in only their third match of the season. Linden picked up the win in straight games, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-9.
“My girls were celebrating like we had won the state championship,” Linden head coach Teressa Bolden said. “I was glad to see that because they’ve got to love the game and the thrill of winning in order to truly compete.”
The program came into existence when Bolden held tryouts over the summer. The team moves to 1-2 on the year with its losses coming to Demopolis and Sweet Water. The Lady Patriots’ next match is set for Tuesday, Sept. 14 when they host Choctaw County at 5 p.m.
