Demopolis High School has announced that it has canceled the homecoming parade and bonfire scheduled for Thursday night due to the threat of inclement weather associated with Hurricane Francine.
However, the homecoming game is still on for Friday night against the Montevallo Bulldogs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The school issued the following statement:
Due to the forecast of rain from Hurricane Francine, the DHS Homecoming Parade and Bonfire scheduled for Thursday, September 12, 2024, has been cancelled.
The game is still on for Friday night! We would love for everyone to come out and support the Tigers! Thank you for understanding! Go Tigers!
Hurricane Francine is expected to make landfall on Wednesday, but the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has placed Marengo County under a slight risk for severe weather, especially tornadoes.
